  1. Do you know if that Fan made Halo Faith movie is going to come out on disc or if it is just going to be online. They have support from a movie company or something like that. But I cant find anything on it. Thanks.

  3. Sorry Josh, looks like it's just online. But it says that it's free. I'm suprised I had'nt heard of this until you told me, as I'm a big fan for a Halo movie.

  4. I have a weird question. OK so im sure you know of Hayabusa armor. I was wandering if you know what spartan 2s or maybe 3s(the ones that were earmarked)use this armor. I can't find anything on it. I know the armor was not used that much. Maybe some of the spartans just had the helmet or the pauldrons and the rest was MJOLNIR.

    ReplyDelete
  5. As you probably know, HAYABUSA started out as a rival to MJOLNIR/Mark Armor. It was later altered to be compatible as a variant with the MJOLNIR Armor. I didn't recall any in-canon usage of the HAYBUSA armor, so I did some research. I did not find any instances of the HAYABUSA being used in combat. But it was used, just not recorded, and not very often. It was probably used only by the Spartan-II's, because the Spartan-III's did not go through enough physical augmentation to use such a powerful armor as the HAYABUSA and MJOLNIR. Sorry I couldn't find anything.

  6. Well the spartan 3s that were earmarked not to go on the suicidal missions of Operation Prometheus and Operation Torpedo, used cheaper versions of MJOLNIR. An example would be Noble Team. Heres a link is you want to check it out. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/SPARTAN-III_Program But yes I also could not find out anything about what spartans used HAYABUSA. That why I was thinking that maybe one of the independent earmarked spartan 3s might have used this armor.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yes, thats right. And there were the Headhunters. But actually, Noble Team used a very expesive armor variant of MJOLNIR. The cheaper version was used by all the other S-III's, named SPI (Semi-powered Iniltration armor). But there are still many Spartan variants that we know little about, including 1.1, Hellspartan, and SPARTAN-IV.

  8. Yea when I was reading Glasslands and it said there was a spartan 4 program I was like what when did that happen. I don't think ive ever heard of that Hellspartan. Were they in the 1rst spartan 2 program or something else? Because what it is saying on the Internet, it sounds like they are similiar to the Headhunters in the Spartan 3 program.

    ReplyDelete
  9. SPARTAN-IV is currently in the development stage.

Hellspartan isnt similar to Headhunters. Headhunters are more like Spartan-II Grey and Black Teams.

Hellspartan is basically Spartan ODSTs. There were only like five of them I think. You can read more about them here: http://www.halopedian.com/Hellspartan_project

  10. Only 2 made it threw. Well dang. I wander if the 2 that made it threw were a team or independent. Your getting a lot of views. Congrads. 1081 at the moment.

  11. Yep, pretty sad. Thanks, about 50 of them are mine from when I first started, and I didn't know how to make it so it doesn't track my own pageviews. Now 1082.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yes, a bunch are mine too. I try to get on daily if I have access to the Internet. Also good job on even starting a blog. A lot of people never get one going because it can be very compicating to start one. Im still posting links to this blog whenever I find something new to post it on. Ive probably posted like 20 links to this blog. lol

  13. Haha, thanks alot man. There's a cool new Halo 4 site that I may be writing for in the future. Right now, I'm pretty active in the forums. halo4tips.org

    ReplyDelete
  14. Do you think I'm posting often enough? Or too often? I'm trying to keep it to about 1 substantial post a month, with medium/secondary posts once a week. I'm afraid I'm going to run out of content/ideas. By the way, I'm still going to post that article about the Terminals. I just haven't found the time to edit it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That Halo4tips looks pretty cool. I might have to keep my eye on that. Yea in my spare time I like to write articles/stuff in the Halo clubs on fanpop.com. It doesn't have the most active Halo stuff going on, but I don't care. lol.. Plus to a lot of the Halo fans in those clubs don't really know a whole lot about Halo except the games. It's kind of sad. haha

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah. I was appalled when I learned that my friend thought the Flood were the Forerunners.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think your posting is fine. I mean your only 1 person. And plus the articles you write are large. I don't think you will run out of content to write about for halo. If you feel like your going to, maybe you could write guides on how to get things in past Halo games, or maybe do a review of the weapons or something. It's all good about the Terminals guide. I posted it on a few of the Halo clubs. 1 dude said he was going to references it a lot. I thought is would be confusing for people. I also edited to location of the terminal for the 2nd level.

  18. Yea, this one guy on there posted something about, will Halo ever reveal his face? I was like WT?? His name is the Master Chief. lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. Alright man well its been good talking to you, but I got to go. I will probably be back on tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Haha, yeah. Sure thing, nice talking to you, too.

  21. Do you know if the comic called Halo fist full of Arrows is going to come out in a hard back version? I can't really find anything on it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sorry, Josh. Couldn't find any. But I found a couple sites to read them, and download a PDF.

  25. I was just at the book store and they had the Halo Encyclopedia but I did not have enough money to get it. I have the Essential visual guide and I was wandering what the difference was between the two? Oh and also if you have any idea of when Halo the fall of Reach the Covenant will be in stores, I would really like to know. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Essential Visual Guide is not at all essential. The Halo Encyclopedia Definitive Guide has twice, if not thrice or 4 times more content that the Visual Guide. I borrowed the Definitive from the library, and later I bought the Visual online, thinking "ok, its newer, it must have more content." Not the case. I was very disappointed. The Visual only has info on weapons, species, characters, and vehicles. The Definitive, however, has planets, cities, story elements, even more info on weapons, species, vehicles, etc. There's just oodles of information in there. Almost as much as Halo Wikia, or Halopedia. I guarantee you can't read it in a day. Maybe 3 or 4 if you read quick enough. I think it's definitely worth the $40.

I already saw The Covenant in a bookstore in Mountain View, California. Not sure where you live, though.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I put my feedback on Yahoo. I think the Visual guide is for people who just play the games and nothing else.

    ReplyDelete
  28. i think the Visual is more of a quick reference guide. It's got the basic informaiton, all in alphabetical order. The Definitive guide is well, definitive. It's got almost everything you could ever want to know about Halo. its only downside is that its kinda old, so no Reach content. I'm saving up in case they make a new Definitive after Halo 4.

    ReplyDelete
  29. No Problem man. Hey if you get the spare time, you should check out this Halo site im making at the moment. Heres the link(I hope) http://halo4evercom.webstarts.com/index.html?r=20111116134842

The only problem Im having with it is on the Tab thing, it says something like freehalogamescom. I have no clue how to get that changed. But yea it's just something basic.

  31. nice site, man! i posted a comment in the guestbook.

  32. Thanks. Yes i'll have to change the terminals page. Im still trying to figure out how to change the font color on the guest book and working on other things on it. I don't think you can change the color. So I might just have to put another background image. It's hard trying to work on it since I don't have the Internet at home. I'm also thinking of different ways to get my site heard. Thats another prblem. lol

  33. You can always post in Community Creations on Halo Waypoint.

    ReplyDelete
  34. How exactly do you post in community creations? lol, I was going to send you a freind request on Facebook today but you beat me to it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Never mind I figured it out. Thanks for the suggestion! I got Fall of Reach the Covenant a few hours ago. Have not started it yet. Do you know when Invasion will release?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Haha yeah I sent it a couple days ago. And no I don't know when invasion is coming out. But you can be assured that ill put a post when it comes out

    ReplyDelete
  37. OK cool. Did people try to give you wierd suggestions when you posted on Waypoint?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Not sure what you mean by wierd suggestions, but no. I dont think I did.

  41. edit:
I had two questions, and I'm sorry if they were already asked,
    1) What order are the books supposed to be read in (I have it currently as:
    Contact Harvest
    Fall of Reach
    The Flood
    First Strike
    Ghost of Onyx
    The Cole Protocol
    Glasslands

and though I know it came "before"
    Cryptum
    Primordium
They are easier to follow I think if you have read the others...
    Second,
I only got part way through the game but Halo Reach seems to decimate the story line in the books I have read (why are spartans of any type there?, not counting those defending the power stations for the mac guns.....which would be the ones under the command of the master chief...the ones I "played" were (as far as I can tell) not them).

    Replies
    1. The Cole protocol takes place during the first years of the covenant-human war, so it goes right after contact harvest. The fall of reach is a bit iffy. While the beginning of it takes place before all the other books, I don't think it should be read first. Contact harvest should be read first. It explains the start of the war. Then you should read Cole protocol. But keep in mind that no one is sure when it takes place. Probably circa 2526-2540.

The reason the fall of reach should be read 3rd is because it fits seamlessly with The Flood and First Strike. Otherwise, I would say to read TFoR before the Cole protocol.
      So:
      Contact Harvest
      Cole Protocol
      TFoR
      The Flood
      First Strike
      Ghosts of Onyx
      Glasslands

      Cryptum
      Primordium

    2. Book Canon vs game Canon is a bit of a gray area.

Master chief was sent to destroy the UNSC Circumference as per the Cole Protocol, because it had vital UNSC info on it that couldn't fall in the hands of the covenant.

Master chief did not command the SPARTANS sent to defend the Mac generators.

Spartans were stationed on Reach just like present-day marines are stationed at military bases today.

You did not play several Spartans. You only played noble-six. Noble Team were comprised of mostly SPARTAN-IIIs, and one SPARTAN-II (Jorge).

I hope I answered all your questions well. Feel free to re-ask them if you're still confused, and feel free to ask any more questions you may have.

    3. In my opinion i think the novels should go like this:
first, the CORE human/covie books (in this order):
      The Fall of Reach
      The Flood
      First Strike
      Ghosts of Onyx
      Glasslands

      Then, the "filler" human books:
      Contact Harvest
      Cole Protocol
      Evolutions (vols 1 and 2)

      Then, the Forerunner saga:
      Cryptum
      Primordium

If you want JUST the master chief story arc:
      The Fall of Reach
The Flood (or play Halo CE)
      First Strike
      Halo 2 (game)
      Halo: Uprising (graphic novel)
      Halo 3 (game)

But, i guess its up to personal preference

  42. Hey man. Whats your take on the year Halo 4 will be set? Ive heard it will be 4 years after Halo 3. Others say longer. I guess 4 years could make since considering Cortana was getting into rampancy during those Halo Legends episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think its a good idea. That way, they can really show how things have changed (or not changed at all, maybe) since the war.

PS: 343i said officially that it takes place 2557.

  44. Thanks! :) The Reclaimer Trilogy is going to be interesting.

  45. I found a discrepency. This one will take a minute... ok so i have read all the books and i'm pretty sure i get Dr. Halsey's character/persona pretty well. She's pretty damn serious. Anyway... So, Noble Team is composed of Spartan 3's (and one spartan 2, of course) but Halsey knows HER spartans well (even with their armor on).. but here she is in the Reach game calling upon Noble Team to take that Cortana fragment to the Pillar... If you read Ghosts of Onyx (when she discovers the spartan 3 program and gets pissed about it) she has NO CLUE they exist.. yet on Reach she asks a team of spartan 3s to do her bidding???? she even had Jun escort her to CASTLE base (where some of TFoR events happen) and she has no questions to ask him?? she doesn't ask why there are strangers wearing her MJOLNIR?? i found in glasslands that she says "i thought something was up when complete strangers showed up on reach wearing my mjolnir" idk if any of this rant made sense.... but can you see where it doesn't quite add up?? maybe i missed something... ???

    1. I've wondered about this myself. Halo: Reach has been known to wreck the Halo canon. S-IIs and IIIs, Armor Abilities, etc.

Most say that she simply assumed that the rest of Noble Team were some rival program of Ackerson's.

  46. My 13 yr old son it wanting me to buy Halo 1 for him for his xbox. I am very careful with what I allow him and his 10 yr old brother play. Biggest thing is language. we don't swear so they have nver heard it at home. What would you say is the language content and would you recomment this for a 10 and 13 yr old.

    1. The Halo games are rated M for mature. 17+ There's not too much foul language... but there is PLENTY of violence, blood, and gore.

I don't suggest any of these games for anyone under the age of 16... but, its up to you (the parent) to decide what is best for your child.

      Delete
    2. In Halo 1, there are some "hell"s, a "damn" here and there, and maybe a "bastard" or two.

Most of the blood is purple or green from the aliens. The only gore is the "Flood", a type of zombie.

Its definitely not the worst Halo. You should start them on Halo: Reach. Its the most mild of the series, plus, it is chronologicaly the first in the storyline.

      Delete
    3. So just start them on that, see how they handle it, and carry on from there.

PS: Halo 3 is, by far, the goriest of the series. But still, not as gory as many other video games out there.

You should read the following article about Halo: Reach: http://www.gamesanityblog.com/2010/09/17/halo-reach-should-it-be-t-teen/

And go to commonsensemedia.org and look up reviews about the Halo games. Very helpful.

    1. Now I'm not entirely sure about this because I want to know as little about the campaign as possible before I play it, but I believe it was hinted that he might be in Halo 4.
